DESCRIPTION:

Like a boomerang, two of our past University presenters are coming back to update us on their research. Why? Because you told us they were great; that their topics resonated with you; and that you would have liked a deeper dive. Our session will unfold in three acts.

ACT 1: RESEARCH BRIEFINGS

The professors will take turns sharing key new insights/findings from their recent research and highlighting pragmatic take-aways for leaders and organizations. The topics will be:

  • Knowledge Hiding in Organizations;
  • Organizational Cynicism.

ACT 2: DEBATES

Each professor will be paired with a CHRO. After the professor’s presentation, the CHRO will comment on the new research insights and recommendations. A lively point/counterpoint discussion will follow.

ACT 3: GROUP DISCUSSION AND Q&A

Working in small groups, the live audience will engage in discussion about all the new insights/findings and their implications. The remote audience will reflect on the content provided by the professors. Both audiences will have the opportunity to produce questions for the concluding panel and suggest ideas for future research. The event will close with the panel of professors and CHROs responding to questions and suggestions.

ENCORE:

The two professors will provide an exclusive “sneak preview” of research studies currently underway at their respective universities.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND:

  • Our local universities are always busy conducting research studies about the people side of business.
  • But because of the classic gap between Academia and Corporate Canada, we miss opportunities to leverage new insights gained through these research projects…

    ...except if you attend this event!

KEY SESSION OUTCOMES:

  • Discover the most valuable insights from the latest research studies conducted on the following topics: Knowledge Hiding in Organizations; and Organizational Cynicism.
  • Decide how you can best leverage these new insights for your organization or client organizations.

In addition to her research success, Catherine is a past winner and frequent teaching award nominee for her teaching in the MBA and PhD programs.
