What kind of HR Leader Are You?

Recently, I had an opportunity to spend some time with a variety of Chief Human Resources Officers; to discuss with them their career backgrounds that led to their current role; their philosophy with respect to the HR profession; and what they see that’s right and wrong with HR practitioners these days.

Their observations were many and varied, and their insights consistent with their HR orientation. You see, CEOs and others who hire CHROs tend to look at us as homogenous; interchangeable; and consistently living up (or down) to their expectations.

The reality is though that we are as diverse a profession when it comes to our styles and orientation, as the functional leaders with whom we work daily.
