Emotional intelligence (also known as ‘emotional quotient’, or EQ) was ranked sixth in the World Economic Forum’s list of the top 10 skills that employees will need to possess to thrive in the workplace of the future. Broadly speaking, EQ refers to someone’s ability to perceive, understand and manage their own feelings and emotions. Daniel Goleman, the father of EI, asserts that the recognition of self- awareness, self-management, empathy and social skill are vital to the success of leaders and workers in the digital age.

Today more than ever, businesses depend on employees who are highly engaged, agile and comfortable with ambiguity. Our ability to build healthy relationships, manage stress and come up with new ideas are all rooted in our emotional and social behaviours.

Michelle Hargreaves and Sandra Crozier-Mckee facilitate a hands-on workshop that combines emotional intelligence, brain science and gamification to deliver conversational mechanics required to build your interpersonal skills, increase empathy and emotional literacy.

In this interactive session, participants will learn:

  • To gain clarity and coherence in their thinking, feeling and actions;

  • To effectively communicate feelings and thoughts;

  • The power of permission;

  • A conversational tool kit that enhances connection and understanding with others;

  • To Identify and navigate uncomfortable emotions in self and others.
